Greenlaw, Crossmichael parish, river Dee

These photos were taken on a walk out to the river Dee via Greenlaw near Castle Douglas.

John Martin's grave

Here are some photos of John Martin's Grave. Martin(1710- 1801)was a Galloway Leveller in 1724 before becoming a clock and watchmaker in Kirkcudbright. There are also some work-in-progress shots of new bird-hides on Threave Estate.

Neilson's Monument -Hot Blast

Here are a collection of photos taken near Rhonehouse (near Castle Douglas) of the James Beaumont Neilson Monument - called Hot Blast. Also included the 'Levellers' stone (but which isn't - wrong date) at Furbar.
